2019 FLORET ONLINE WORKSHOP

 

Q: WHERE DO I LOG IN TO THE FLORET ONLINE WORKSHOP? 

A: Login to your account at: https://workshop.floretflowers.com/login. 

Be sure to login with the email you used to register for the workshop. And please note that the login for the workshop is different than the login for the Floret Shop and Farmer-Florist Collective

 

Q: WHAT DO I DO IF I CAN'T REMEMBER MY PASSWORD TO LOG IN?

A: If you cannot remember your Workshop password, simply hit "Forgot Password" on the Login Page and the system will send you an email to reset it. 

 

Q: DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD ANY SPECIAL SOFTWARE FOR THE WORKSHOP?

A: No additional software is needed. The workshop is a web-based platform, so all you need is an internet connection. 

Video load time will depend on your network and internet connection. Different browsers require different network speeds. For the best experience, we recommend using the Google Chrome browser. If you live in an area with slower internet speeds, you may want to try Vivaldi or Opera. We do NOT recommend using Internet Explorer.

 

Q:  WHEN WILL I GET ACCESS TO ALL OF THE WORKSHOP CONTENT?

A: We release one module per week of the six-week course, starting on January 4th. Registrants will receive an email each Friday during the workshop letting you know the next module is available. At the end of the six weeks, you will have access to all of the content and you can watch and re-watch the videos at your convenience. Sorry, but we cannot release any modules early. 

 

Q:  DO I NEED TO LOG IN AT A SPECIFIC TIME EACH WEEK?

A: No. There isn't a specific time you need to log in to access the workshop content. Once a workshop module is released, you can watch the video lessons any day or time you want, whenever it is most convenient for you. 

 

Q: WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEKLY Q&A SESSION?

A: Please submit your question by Wednesday at 10 a.m. PST for your question to be considered for this week's learning module. 

 

Q: WHERE DO I FIND THE WORKSHOP PDF DOWNLOADS?

A: At the bottom of each Module is a "Downloads" section that includes a number of PDF documents that you can download and print. Please note: this information is already included in your course packet and not all pages of the 2019 Course Packet are available as PDFs. We included digital versions of select pages that are useful to print and use year after year. The "Alumni Worksheet Updates" section is for our 2018 students to access the new or modified information for 2019. All of this information is already included in the 2019 Course Packet.

 

Q:  HOW DO I JOIN THE 2019 FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY FACEBOOK GROUP?

A: If you are a student in the class of 2019, you can request to join the 2019 Floret Learning Community Facebook Group here.  Note: this group is open to 2019 students only. 

 

Q: CAN I JOIN ONE OF THE OTHER FLORET FACEBOOK GROUPS?

A: The class of 2018 and 2019 each have separate Facebook groups. Students are invited to participate in the Facebook group associated with their class year only. 

 

Q: CAN I INVITE MY BUSINESS PARTNER/SPOUSE/FRIEND TO THE FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY FACEBOOK GROUP?

A: Sorry, but we are only able to provide one Floret Learning Community group invitation per workshop registration. 

 

Q:  HOW DO I FOLLOW SPECIFIC POSTS IN THE FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY FACEBOOK GROUP?

A: If there is a post that is of particular interest to you and you want to be sure to see all future comments on the topic, you can turn on notifications for that particular post. (NOTE: it is not necessary and we do not advise that you comment "following"). To follow the post, simply click on the three horizontal dots [...] or down arrow in the upper right hand corner of any post→ choose “turn on notifications for this post” from the dropdown menu. Watch video with more tips on getting the most out of the Floret Learning Community Facebook Group. 

 

Q: I'M HAVING TROUBLE VIEWING THE VIDEOS/ THE VIDEOS ARE CHOPPY OR SOMETIMES "FLICKER." WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A: First, be sure to close all other browser windows and any other programs that are open on your computer, then refresh your browser (we recommend using Google Chrome). If you continue to experiencing issues, you may need to clear your cache or update your browser.  

Another option is to try using Vivaldi or Opera as your web browser, as they do not require high internet connection speeds to view videos. Note: We do NOT recommend using Internet Explorer.

 

Q: I'M A MEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2018. WHAT NEW CONTENT DID YOU ADD TO THE 2019 COURSE? 

A: In the Downloads area of Module 1 is a new section called "Alumni Worksheet Updates" where you can find PDFs of any pages that were added, edited or modified from your 2018 Course Packet. In this area you also will find the "New Video Outline" PDF that summarizes all new videos that have been added across the entire workshop curriculum. 

 

Q: HOW CAN I MAKE SURE I RECEIVE ALL WORKSHOP-RELATED EMAILS?

Q: I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY COURSE PACKET YET. CAN YOU RE-SEND IT?

A: If you have not yet received a course packet, please send an email to: [email protected] 

  

Q: I SIGNED UP FOR A 6-MONTH PAYMENT PLAN. WHAT DAY WILL MY ACCOUNT BE CHARGED FOR MY NEXT PAYMENT?

A:  Payment plans will bill your account 30 days after your initial payment. Each subsequent payment will be billed 30 days later. 

 

Q: I SIGNED UP FOR A 6-MONTH PAYMENT PLAN; CAN I PAY OFF MY BALANCE EARLY?

A: Yes, please send an email to [email protected] and we can send you an invoice for your remaining balance. 



Q: CAN YOU CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD ON A SPECIFIC DAY OF THE MONTH AS PART OF YOUR PAYMENT PLAN OPTION?

A: With our payment option, you are charged the first payment at checkout and your next payment will be automatically billed 30 days later. Sorry, but our payment processor does not allow us to set up individualized billing dates.
 

Q:  HOW DO I UPDATE MY CREDIT CARD AND BILLING INFORMATION?

A: You can update your billing preferences by following these steps (Note: This is easier to do using a desktop computer versus mobile device):

1) log in to the Floret Online Workshop using the email and password you created during registration

2) Click on your Avatar (circle) in the top right corner of the page

3) Select Settings from the dropdown

4) Click Credit Card Info in the top right of the page

5) Click Change Card

   

Q: HOW DOES THE FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY WORK?

A: The Floret Learning Community is an optional component of the course and is offered as a bonus to the core workshop content. The Learning Community operates within a secret Facebook group that is available exclusively to Floret Online Workshop students. The Learning Community will serve as a place for course-related conversations and networking among registrants. Posts will be viewable only to group members. The group will remain active after the conclusion of the six weeks of the Floret Online Workshop, but the Floret Support Team will be less involved in discussions after that time, as we'll need to direct our attention back to our own farms and businesses.

 

Q:  WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT? CAN YOU SHARE THE LEARNING COMMUNITY INFORMATION WITH ME ANOTHER WAY?

A: If you'd like to participate in the optional Floret Learning Community Facebook Group, you may consider creating a Facebook account for use during the six-week course and then cancel it at the conclusion of the workshop. The discussions that will take place in the Facebook Learning Community will largely be among other participants, so there is not a way for us to easily share those discussions with non Facebook users.  

 

Q: HOW DO THE WEEKLY Q&A SESSIONS WORK?

A:  Each week during the first six weeks of the workshop, you will have an opportunity to submit a written question related to that week's module. Questions will be submitted inside the Online Workshop portal. Each week, Erin, Jill & the Floret Team will answer common questions and provide additional information. The Q&A session videos will be uploaded into the module the following week for students to view. 

 

Q: DOES THE ONLINE WORKSHOP INCLUDE FLORAL DESIGN TUTORIALS?

A: The Online Workshop provides detailed instruction on making market bouquets and efficient packaging techniques, but the course does not include wedding-type design tutorials. 


Q: WILL THE VIDEOS IN THE ONLINE WORKSHOP BE AVAILABLE AFTER 1 YEAR?

A. Yes! Unlike other online courses that restrict access to the content after a year or allow you to view it on only one device, the Floret Online Workshop information is yours to keep. You'll have lifetime access to all of the content and any updates we make to the modules.

  

Q: I HAVE A LOT ON MY PLATE. WHAT IF I FALL BEHIND IN THE LESSONS?

A: It is no problem at all. What is great about the online course is that you can go at your own pace and learn whenever and wherever you are. Plus, you get lifetime access to the videos and other content, so you can always come back when you need a refresher.

       

Q:  HOW DO I FIND THE FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY ONCE I AM LOGGED INTO FACEBOOK? 

A: Desktop: Once logged into Facebook, scroll down the navigation option on the left hand side and choose “Groups” under the “Explore” header. Find and click on the Floret Learning Community group.

Q:  HOW DO I SORT POSTS WITHIN THE FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY FACEBOOK GROUP? 

A: Facebook typically sorts posts based on “Recent Activity.”  Posts with the latest activity (comments) will be listed first. In other words, someone may have made a post several days or weeks ago, but because there are new comments on the post, it bumps it to the top of the group feed. To see only NEW posts, navigate to just below the top pinned post and click on “Recent Activity” and select “New Posts” from the dropdown list.  This will sort all posts chronologically so that the newest posts are at the top.  

 

Q:  HOW DO I CHANGE THE NOTIFICATION SETTINGS IN THE LEARNING COMMUNITY FACEBOOK GROUP? 

A: Determine the level of notification you receive from Facebook about posts within the Learning Community by choosing from the following setting options:

All posts:  any time members post in the group
Highlights:  friends’ posts and suggested posts
Friends’ Posts:  whenever your friends post
Off:  no notifications when members post (if you choose this, you would then need to navigate to the group page to see posts).

How to change the notification settings: 
Desktop: Once logged into Facebook, scroll through the navigation option on the left hand side and choose “Groups” under the “Explore” heading→ click on the gear to the right of your Floret Learning Community group→ in the dropdown list, choose “edit notification settings” and then pick your preferred setting from the “Notify me about” dropdown list

iphone: Inside the Facebook app→ click on the three horizontal lines in bottom right hand corner and scroll down to the “Explore” section→click “Groups”→click on your Learning Community group→ click “info”→ click “notification settings”→click on your preferred setting (including option for push notifications).

 

Q: HOW DO I FIND PAST POSTS IN THE FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY FACEBOOK GROUP? 

A: You can search for past posts on a particular topic by typing a keyword into the “search”  box at the top of the Floret Learning Community Facebook group.  


Q:  HOW DO I ADD THE FLORET LEARNING COMMUNITY TO MY SHORTCUTS/FAVORITES?

 A: Desktop: Once logged into Facebook, scroll through the navigation option on the left hand side and choose “Groups” under the “Explore” header→ click on the gear to the right of your Floret Learning Community group→ in the dropdown list, choose “edit notification settings” and choose “add to favorites.”
